Why Scaleway

Scaleway is used for object storage, because Scalingo does not provide a native object storage solution. When a project needs to store files or binary assets, Scaleway Object Storage is the go-to choice.

When to use Scaleway

Add Scaleway to a project when it requires object storage (user uploads, generated files, backups, etc.). Do not introduce Scaleway for other purposes without a discussion — assess whether an existing add-on or service already covers the need.

Infrastructure as Code

Any Scaleway resource used by a project must be versioned using Terraform, committed to the project’s repository. Do not create or modify Scaleway resources manually through the console without reflecting those changes in Terraform.

This ensures the infrastructure is reproducible, reviewable, and auditable.
